Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions is committed to the optimizing the performance, efficiency, durability and safety of its many innovative entrance solutions. And by so doing, we are constantly evolving – improving the products we design and manufacture and the way in which we serve our customers. Here is a brief look at some at some of the accomplishments and activities that shine a light on our commitment to operational growth and customer success.
Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions understands that leadership in a challenging marketplace requires vision, creativity, determination and experience. It requires a firm grasp of the current situation, but always with an eye to the future.
In 2022, HPAS fulfilled its goal of building a highly skilled and proven leadership team that exhibits all of these traits… and more. Sometimes promoting from within and sometimes hiring from the outside, HPAS is proud to announce these key leadership positions.
Joy Ribble, President
Joy Ribble was appointed President of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions. After joining the Overhead Door Corporation team nearly 25 years ago and most recently serving as Horton VP Finance, Ms. Ribble was the natural choice. “Joy brings to her new role a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Pedestrian Access space, as well as a strong understanding of the Horton Distributor channel,” says Kelly D. Terry, President & CEO of Overhead Door.
Dan Seymour, VP Engineering
After a rigorous search, HPAS selected Dan Seymour to serve as VP Engineering. Mr. Seymour brings 21 years of experience from Stanley Black & Decker, including seven years in the Automatic Door Division. “Having held roles in supply chain and manufacturing engineering and leading cross-functional teams in new product development, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and competencies to our engineering processes and product launches,” according to HPAS President Joy Ribble.
J. Elias Campos, VP Marketing
A long-time veteran of Horton Automatics, J. Elias Campos was appointed Vice President of Marketing for all of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions. In this new role, Campos has assumed leadership responsibility for all HPAS marketing activities, including Won-Door, Horton Automatics and FLEX by Horton brands. The cross-divisional restructuring of marketing and VP appointment of Mr. Campos are part of the HPAS’s goal to provide service, support and ease of specification throughout Horton doors and Won-Door fire & security entrance systems.
Wayne Terry, VP Finance
To assume the position that opened up when Joy Ribble was promoted to President, Wayne Terry was appointed VP Finance of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions. Mr. Terry brings extensive experience in finance leadership roles with Owens Corning, Atrium Companies, Flowserve Corporation and, most recently, VT Industries, a manufacturer of architectural wood doors and related products. “We are confident Wayne’s experience with production and distribution of configured products, internal control, M&A and other areas, will be very helpful in driving profitability and growth of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions,” says John Wilson, CFO of Overhead Door Corporation.
To help architects, specification writers and building/property managers to quickly and easily choose the best door solution for their specific challenges, Horton has released the Interactive Product Selection Guide. The Selection Guide provides handy one-click access to the product details, design documents and product literature. It’s designed to instruct the user on the process involved in selecting an appropriate door system from Horton. This Interactive Guide is just another example of how Horton is working to ease the design and selection process for automatic doors. A free download of this selection tool is available here.
Horton’s annual brand tracking survey provides insight into how the brand fares in specific areas of customer satisfaction and brand awareness. The automatic door business continues to be a three-way race with Assa Abloy, Stanley and Horton at the top. Horton continues to hold a position of strength in the healthcare marketplace.
One key finding is that Horton remains the top brand delivering the greatest satisfaction to users in 2022. In this question, Horton climbed into the No. 1 position when it comes to “Very Satisfied,” at 40.2%, while last year’s winner, Assa Abloy, moved back to the No. 2 position at 27%. Stanley’s “Very Satisfied” level of 21% was almost half of Horton’s top rating.
Our goal in 2023 is to continue to capitalize on this success with additional advancements in production times, an enhanced level of customer service and an optimized marketing strategy.
